Meet your private guide at 8. am in the morning and drive up for the first stopover at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology – one of the city’s best and most informative museums located in the Cau Giay district which is about 7 kilometers from the downtown city. The museum preserves and displays many cultural objects of 54 ethnic groups and is full of detailed information about the lifestyle of each ethnic group throughout the S-shaped elongated region.

Afterward, head to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum for a solemn visit to Ho Chi Minh Museum and his stilt-house residence to admire the simple lifestyle of the national leader, standing on Ba Dinh Square where Ho Chi Minh President read the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Then approach the unique architecture of One Pillar Pagoda and visit the President Palace nearby. Powering up after a morning journey by enjoying “pho”-the specialty of Vietnamese food for lunch at K.O.T.O restaurant established by Vietnamese Australian Jimmy Pham on Van Mieu Street, it is a non-profit organization that is run by local children whom Jimmy recruited from the streets.

After lunch, your afternoon starts with a short walk toward The Temple of Literature. It was founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong and considered the first Vietnam national university and now is one of the most city’s attractive destinations. Follow your guide to gain an insight into the special architecture style and 82 stelae of Doctors as well as the Vietnamese education system in the past.

Before heading for the Old Quarter, get a glimpse of Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre to enjoy a water puppet show-the unique traditional art of North Vietnam for a very long time. Depart from Ba Be to Cao Bang after a cozy breakfast in the early morning, say goodbye to the host then drive up to Cao Bang for a morning sightseeing at Ban Gioc Waterfall in Trung Khanh district which is one of the most beautiful and magnificent waterfalls in Vietnam sharing a part of the border with China. Indulge in the fresh and cool water then return to Cao Bang. Stop at Nguom Ngao cave along the way to visit and admire the amazing stalactites for the rest afternoon. Arrive at Thanh Loan hotel to check-in.

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – Take a train to Lao Cai

Welcome to Vietnam. Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport, obtain your Vietnam visa, and then clear Immigration and Customs. Our tour guide and driver will be waiting for you at the airport and transfer you to your lovely hotel in Hanoi. At night, our driver will transfer you to Hanoi train station to catch the night train to Lao Cai.

Day 2: Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Fansipan Mountain by Cable Car (B, L)

Arrive at Lao Cai train station, you will be welcomed by our local tour guide and transferred to a local restaurant near the railway station for showering and breakfast. Then drive uphill to Sapa. Along the way, you can stop anywhere to admire green valleys, rice terraces, and local people – hill tribes working on the slope of a hill, water buffalo, or pigs on the slope of mountains.
Set your feet in Sapa town, start a day tour to visit: From 2 km at Sapa Town, Cat Cat Village is an age-old village of the H’Mong ethnic group remaining traditional custom that is lots in other villages. Come to the village, visitors have an opportunity to admire a lively and colorful picture of the local daily life. That maybe is the image of young women sitting by looms with colorful pieces of brocade decorated with designs of flowers and birds.

Then, we head to the Sapa Cable Station for the very amazing trip to Indochina’s Rooftop – Mount Fanxipan by cable car. This is particularly interesting in these northern mountains of the country, where travelers seek the rice terraces and traditional arts of minority peoples. Located around 2,200 meters from the altitude are the ethnic minorities the lowland Vietnamese generically call ‘Meo’ – savages – and above them looms the bulk of Hua Xi Pan: “giant protruding rock”. You can challenge yourself when hiking 600 stone stairs more to reach the rocky peak of The Roof of Indochina.

After all, you will be privately transferred back to your hotel and have your own leisure time.

Day 3: Sapa – Lao Chai Ta Van – Hanoi By Shuttle Bus (B, L)

From Sapa, we trek via Y Linh Ho through beautiful scenery to the Black H’ mong village of Lao Chai where we spend time looking around the village and learning about life in the village.
Then, we walk through rice terraces and on local paths to the Zay village of Ta Van.

This is the only village in the Sa Pa area where the Dzay people live. We spend time looking around the village.
At 14:00, you get on the shuttle bus to go back to Hanoi (no guide).

Day 4: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)

In the morning, we start our day tour to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum, where Ho Chi Minh president lived and worked till the end of his life. As a symbol of gratitude and respect of the Vietnamese people for president Ho Chi Minh, The Ho Chi Minh Museum is the preserver of everything memorable related to Ho Chi Minh.

Closed by, go to visit one of the famous temples, One Pillar Pagoda which was designed in special architecture, and is built of wood on a single stone pillar 1.25 m in diameter. Designed to resemble a lotus blossom, which is the national flower, as well as a symbol of a Buddhist symbol of purity, since lotus blossoms in a muddy pond.

Then, visiting the Temple of Literature (Vietnamese name is Quoc Tu Giam) – Vietnam’s first University, which was built in 1070 in honor of Confucius, his followers, and Chu Van An, a moral figure in Vietnamese education.

After that, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, where they can look at a vivid picture of the miniaturized Vietnamese ethnic community’s life. It can be said that almost no foreign tourists to Hanoi refuse to visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. We visit Ngoc Son Temple which is located at the northern end of Sword lake from the shore, walking on The Huc bridge that leads to the island.

Take your time wandering and exploring the Hanoi 36 Old Quarter streets which are famous for the history, the architecture, the enormous amount and diversity of products, and even the everyday life of its residents. Day 1: Hanoi – Pu Luong via Mai Chau (L, D)

Meet your private tour in the morning and head for your trip to Pu Luong via Mai Chau-a mountainous district belonging to Hoa Binh province. Take short trekking along the way to Mai Chau to visit remote poetic villages, picturesque valleys, and water wheels, you will catch the unexpected images about how local people create power and provide water for their fields and daily living. After that, feast on mouth-watering local specialties such as rice cooked in bamboo (Com Lam), Muong pork, steam sticky rice, and so on.

If your trip falls into ripped rice time, you will have a chance to take some photos of the yellow imposing rice fields running one after another and join to learn how to take care of the rice fields under the guidance of local people. Day 2: Pu Luong Full-day Discovery (B, L, D)

A full day to explore Pu Luong. After breakfast,  we start to descend into the beautiful valley facing the Retreat where you walk around tumbling rice terraces. Then we will walk through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque Uoi village sitting at the base of a towering mountain.

Continue to walk downhill to a local home, where you can take a rest then take a cycle to go cycling around Lan village. If time permits, we will visit a local family where we can learn about their traditional brocade weaving (not guaranteed). Cycling through the rice paddies and village to village, bridge to bridge to explore more the scenic landscapes surrounding. You will end up at Hieu Village (the stunning village in the area), and you will have a good chance to enjoy the Hieu waterfall, the sole one in the reserve. Ride back to the local home, where the car pick-up point.  Go back to Pu Luong retreat at the end of the day for overnight.

Day 3: Pu Luong (Bang scenic villages half-day) – Hanoi (B, L)

After breakfast, take a short ride from the retreat to Dong Dieng village. Going down into the most beautiful valley in Puluong. Along the way, you will have a chance to enjoy beautiful terrace rice fields and gorgeous mountains. Take a scenic trail winding to have a look at the landscape of the rice field and the village, which widened in your eyes. You will pass some homes on the way, You can come to visit any local family if you want, this is a great chance to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of the locals. It’s time to get back to the retreat for lunch.
